Up the Spiral Staircase
An adventure into the history of Christ the Saviour Primary School
I was honoured to be approached by Ealing's Christ the Saviour Primary School to create a commemorative book for their 150 and 160th anniversary. Written by the Deputy Headteacher, Su Larson, Up the Spiral Staircase takes the reader on a magical journey through the history of the school alongside Tom and Ellie.
Designing a book that would engage an entire primary student body was an incredibly fun challenge, as was creating illustrations that were both engaging and historically accurate. The finished product was not only gifted to each family in the school, but also used in lessons during the lead-up to the school's anniversary celebrations.
The book provides a fascinating insight into the rich history of CTS for students, parents and teachers alike! Illustrating areas of the school that the readers will recognise and including small nods to the school life that they know gives the students a better picture of how they themselves make up a part of the CTS story.
